Australian Open 2018 Mens’ Singles Winner Tip

Would you like to know our Australian Open 2018 Mens’ Singles Winner Tip? The 1st tennis major of 2018 will take place in Melbourne (Monday 15 – Sunday 28 January 2018), although the Australian Open Womens’ Singles Final concludes a day earlier.

The Australian Open is currently played on Blue Plexicushion (hard court surface). With three courts currently featuring retractable roofs (Rod Laver Arena, Hisense Arena, and Margaret Court Arena) neither rain nor high temperatures should interfere much with play on these three courts.

Since 2004 only 5 men have won the Mens’ singles – Roger Federer (2017, 2010, 2007, 2006, 2004), Novak Djokovic (2016, 2015, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2008), Stan Wawrinka (2014), Rafael Nadal (2009), and Marat Safin in (2005). Since 2010 Andy Murray has been runner up 5 times (in 2010 to Roger Federer, and in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2016 to Novak Djokovic).

We can’t really recommend Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, or Stan Wawrinka at any price that is likely to be offered as none of them seem fully fit and/or at their best. We really can only see Roger Federer (to win again, after winning in 2017) or Rafael Nadal as possible winners in 2018. We could make a genuine case for both of these legends of the game to be our Australian Open 2018 Mens’ Singles Winner Tip, but we think Roger Federer‘s shorter price actually offers the most value (9/4 at Sun Bets. Odds checked on 3rd January 2018, but may change at any time).
