Formula 1 driver contracts 2025: Line-ups, deals, end dates for every team this year image

The Formula 1 driver market is always active.

Teams are constantly on the lookout for any possible moves, premature termination of a contract or the end of a deal.

Developments in the paddock are constant, with ongoing discussions held that could lead to changes at any point.

The Sporting News collates how long the current crop of F1 drivers have contracts for.

Red Bull Racing

Liam Lawson 2025 1 (2025)

As long as Red Bull has a competitive car, the Austrian-based team can keep the most talented driver on the grid under their wing. Max Verstappen, the reigning world champion, has a contract until 2028. Liam Lawson replaces Checo Pérez on a one-year contract.

Ferrari

In 2025, Ferrari is making a statement, with Lewis Hamilton replacing Carlos Sainz. The Briton will be joined by Charles Leclerc, who is entering his seventh season with the famous Italian team.

McLaren

Mercedes

Alpine

Racing Bulls

Aston Martin

F1 veteran Fernando Alonso has his future secured with Aston Martin through to 2026. Lance Stroll’s contract is also locked in for a further two seasons, although his father’s ownership of the team gives him even more security.

Williams

After time at McLaren and Ferrari, Carlos Sainz has joined Williams on a multi-year contract. The Spaniard will work alongside Alex Albon, who enters his fourth consecutive season with the team. The Thai driver will likely become the second driver.

Sauber

After failing to deliver in past campaigns with Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou, Sauber (A.K.A. Stake F1) is fielding two new drivers for 2025. Nico Hulkenberg has left Haas to join the team, while Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto will make his F1 debut after being crowned F2 champion in 2024.

Haas
