Liverpool vs. PSG live score: UEFA Champions League result, updates, stats from Anfield image

Paris Saint-Germain did more or less everything part from put the ball in the net against Liverpool last week.

As such, they head into Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second-leg encounter at Anfield nursing a 1-0 deficit after Harvey Elliott’s smash-and-grab heroics in the French capital.

Coming from behind against the runaway Premier League leaders and six-time winners of this competition will be no easy feat, but Luis Enrique hopes it inspires his players.

“We’ll go there and show ourselves to be a team that deserves to go through,” said the former Barcelona and Spain boss. “We’ve got nothing to lose.”

Liverpool vs. PSG lineups, team news

Cody Gakpo has returned to Liverpool training after missing the last few matches with an ankle injury and should be ready to see the pitch again in this important Champions League game.

If fit for starting duty, Gakpo would likely replace Darwin Nunez at the head of the Liverpool attack. The Uruguayan has been solid in a role off the bench, as he was in the first leg, but has struggled when given the chance to start.

Otherwise, the only injury concerns for the Reds are the absences of Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez due to muscle issues. The latter is likely out for much of the season, if not the rest of the campaign entirely.

Liverpool predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Alisson (GK) — Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson — Mac Allister, Gravenberch — Diaz, Szoboszlai, Salah — Gakpo.

Liverpool subs: Matchday squads released one hour and 15 minutes before kickoff

Incredibly, there are no injury concerns for PSG head coach Luis Enrique to worry about, as he has a fully fit squad at his disposal.

It’s been a stellar season for all three frontline PSG stars, as there has been enough attacking volume to go around for Ousmane DembeleBradley Barcola and new signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. It was Dembele who starred in the first leg for PSG – clearly the best player on the pitch for much of the match even as they were unable to profit from his brilliant display.

PSG will likely continue on with breakout defender Willian Pacho at center-back alongside captain Marquinhos, instead of lifetime club servant Presnel Kimpembe who has ridden the bench since returning from an Achilles tear in mid-January.

PSG predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Donnarumma (GK) — Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes — Neves, Vitinha, F. Ruiz — Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Barcola.
