Manchester United’s penalty-shootout victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup third round looked like it could be a springboard for their season.

However, Ruben Amorim’s side have won just three Premier League games since then heading into this weekend’s showdown at Old Trafford, where they exited the FA Cup via the same means against Fulham last week.

The clubs also experienced contrasting fortunes in Europe in midweek, with Arsenal racking up a 7-1 win at PSV in the Champions League Round of 16 — a record away win in the knockout stages of the competition. United were held to a 1-1 draw at Real Sociedad.

Arsenal began the weekend a distant second in the Premier League, 13 points shy of leaders Liverpool with a game in hand. United were 14th, knowing they would drop a place if Everton secured a positive result against relegation-threatened Wolves in Saturday’s late kickoff.

The Sporting News looks at the latest team news and predicted lineups for the game.

United’s injury woes remain considerable and Amorim said he was unsure whether Harry Maguire or Manuel Ugarte would be ready to return after sitting out against Real Sociedad.

Former Arsenal youngster Chido Odi was ineligible in midweek but is an option to freshen up United’s lacklustre attack.

Patrick Dorgu remains suspended following his red card against Ipswich Town, meaning Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot are set to start in the wing-back positions. As the weighty absentee list below demonstrates, there isn’t really anyone else.

Man United predicted lineup (3-4-2-1, right to left): Onana (GK) — Yoro, De Ligt, Lindelof — Mazraoui, Fernandes, Casemiro, Dalot — Zirkzee, Garnacho — Odi

Injured: Martinez (knee), Amad Diallo (ankle), Shaw (undisc.), Mainoo (thigh), Collyer (knock), Mount (thigh), Bayindir (undisc.), Heaton (undisc.), Evans (muscle), Maguire (undisc, doubt), Ugarte (undisc, doubt)
Suspended: Dorgu

Arsenal still have their plethora of attacking absentees, with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel MartinelliGabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz on the sidelines.

Mikel Arteta substituted Myles Lewis-Skelly as the teenage full-back diced with a red card in Eindhoven. Given he’s already been dismissed twice this season in the Premier League — albeit with one of those rescinded — the Gunners boss could opt for Riccardo Calafiori for this high-profile occasion.

Arsenal predicted lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Raya (GK) — Timber, Gabriel, Saliba, Calafiori — Odegaard, Partey, Rice — Nwaneri, Merino, Trossard

Injured: Saka (hamstring), Havertz (hamstring), Martinelli (hamstring), Jesus (ACL), Tomiyasu (knee)
Suspended: None
